Welcome to my Website!

Specialize in People and Media

My education and work have focused on how to design, build, and evaluate systems that treat humans as the central component. Also, understanding the technical and computational requirements of systems in terms of what is needed to deliver creative, effective results.

Full Stack Developer at ChildPlus Software

Interned and at graduation took on full-time employment, helping to perfect the nation’s leading Head Start management software.

Programmed on the front end using DevExpress and Crystal reporting tools, updating the entire application’s user interface, developing new features, and finding and fixing innumerable bugs. Also, wrote new software to help fellow developers and SYS admins update thousands of customers for multiple cycles.

Position required navigating through a decade-old codebase, letting me hone my skills in C# and SQL alike. Commended for how quickly I was able to start making large, meaningful change.

The Space Racers

Space Racer is a time trial racing game built to demonstrate “Game Feel.” That is the elusive yet essential quality that makes certain games more fun to play. We built Space Racer to be fast paced but with tight controls to achieve a greater sensation of involvement with the game.

Working on this project was an opportunity to try new programs and languages. I enjoyed working in Unity 3D and learned C# and Javascript to write in game actions. I welcomed taking on the many roles required to pull together a video game, and the rewards it can provide in return.

This was the first time I actually drew upon physics in my computer science work, utilizing formulas to guide my avatar and recursive functions to generate realistic asteroid fields. This project was a great way to combine a passion for programming, graphics, and user experience.

HueScapes

Senior Design Project

Discover the future of dynamic light scenes. An experience that breathes life into your spaces by mirroring the movment of natural light. This system will revolutionize the way we perceive and interact with light and space.

HueScapes is being built using Apple’s upcoming programming language Swift to provide users a new connection with their Philips Hue lightbulbs.

Face Morphing!

I used Processsing to apply a number of image warping algorithms. The results might be horrifying, but the code isn’t (you can check it below).

Ogden Nash | The Cow

An installation in the Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons made for Arts @ Tech; this side project let me share some of my favorite poetry (and nonsense) to bring a little levity to the engineering world.
